Episode One: Some Terrible Haggling

Michael was very lucky not to have been fired in the very first episode of The Apprentice.

The teams had been set the task of selling two vans loads of fish. With an hour to go, the team were left with a whole pile of unsold fish. Half the team, including Michael, were sent of to sell half the fish to business.

In an unexplained twist, the team decided to sell the fish to a solicitors. It looked like they were going well. Then Michael started haggling. Michael's starting point was £150. The lead negociator of the solicitors' started at £50. A few minutes later, the solicitor was still at £50 and Michael was begging to get £55. He failed.

Luckily for him, Alex didn't bring him into the boardroom. It would be interesting to know what Sir Alan would have thought of that sort of business negotiation.
